Introduction to the CAT Syllabus

In addition to having excellent general intelligence and thinking abilities, candidates must also possess the ability to read between the lines, understand the underlying meaning of problems, and identify potentially straightforward answers to difficult ones. Students can understand the CAT syllabus by reviewing CAT question papers from previous tests.

Despite having five sections, the CAT curriculum only has three because of the additional separation of the VARC and DILR sections into two sub-sections. Candidates must be familiar with the Common Admission Test (CAT) syllabus and exam structure before beginning their exam preparation. This article goes over the CAT syllabus piece by section.

Introduction to the CAT Syllabus

The CAT exam has undergone major changes over the past 10 years, including modifications to the question style, time allotment, exam structure, scoring system, and other crucial components. The most recent CAT exam format, which IIM Ahmedabad introduced last year for the CAT 2022 exam, is now the basis for the course.

A computer-based admissions test is called the "Common Admission Test" (CAT) (CBT). By studying the CAT curriculum, we may be able to gain a good idea of how to get ready for the CAT entrance exam. The three main topics covered in the CAT Syllabus are Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation, and Quantitative Aptitude.

The CAT Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension Syllabus includes information on vocabulary, grammar, paraphrases, RC passages, part summaries, and other subjects. Four RC readings with four questions each were given the previous year.

One of the topics included in the CAT Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning Syllabus is DI sets with graphical and tabular representation, along with word puzzles, seating configurations, blood relations, and more.

The five categories of the CAT Quantitative Aptitude Syllabus include numbers, geometry and measurement, algebra, current math, and arithmetic.

The new CAT Exam Pattern states that there will be 66 questions on the exam and that it must be finished in two hours. Exam Routine for the CAT

Before beginning their CAT preparation, candidates can download CAT Question Papers to get a better understanding of the new pattern and syllabus.

The majority of the questions on the CAT paper were based on advanced middle school math (classes 9 and 10) and English topics, with varying degrees of difficulty (higher).

There is no explicit CAT exam syllabus given on the CAT Official Website because CAT does occasionally surprise candidates. In contrast, the CAT Exam can be passed because it assesses the candidates' command of the fundamentals. Therefore, each applicant should make sure they have meticulously prepared for the necessities. Unpleasant surprises are greatly reduced if an aspirant adheres to the CAT curriculum.
